collietreatEverybody loves to take care of their pets. The best way to take care of your dog is to ensure proper and healthy dog food for him or her, including treats. Homemade dog biscuits or treats which have natural ingredients only, is much better for the health of your pooch, plus the whole family can join in the fun. They’re really simple to prepare and the kids will have fun helping rolling out the dough, and using fun shaped cookie cutters to cut out of the dough.

Remember, most dog foods obtained from the grocery are harmful to the health of your dog. They have high amounts of corn in it which is not favorable for a dog’s health. The meat meal which you purchase may contain feathers or claws which can certainly harm your beloved dog. You can help make sure that your dog has a healthy diet by making homemade dog biscuits in your own kitchen. You can make them with ease and provide your dog with nutritious food and and he or she will live a healthier and happier life.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe:
whole wheat flour (2 1/2 cups)
nonfat dry milk powder (1/2 cup)
1 egg — beaten
Flavoring: Meat drippings, broth, or water from canned tuna (enough to make a stiff
dough).
Combine flour, and powdered milk in a medium sized bowl. Add beaten egg,
flavoring and mix well with hands. Dough should be very stiff. If necessary add more
flavoring.
On a well floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with shaped cookie
cutters of your choice.
Place biscuits on cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let them sit in the oven for a couple hours to harden.

It is really this easy to prepare gourmet dog biscuits from your own kitchen with fun dog treat recipes. This would not only save you money but also would ensure you that your dog is given a great healthy and nutritious dog treat, and not only that, it provides a fun activity for the kids!
